RECOGNITION
Born in Cairo in 1986, Egyptian visual artist Aya El Fallah creates emotionally charged paintings exploring memory, identity, human connection, and the inner world.
Her practice is deeply personal: each work begins with an experience, feeling, place, or moment and develops intuitively through expressive gestures, layered surfaces, fragmented forms, and vibrant color. Rather than simply depicting a subject, El Fallah captures the emotional trace it leaves behind, creating paintings in which viewers can discover their own memories, emotions, and stories.
Rooted in Cairo and shaped by years of travel and cultural encounters, her visual language continues to evolve. A significant period spent in Abidjan introduced new influences of nature, textiles, rhythm, and intense color, adding another dimension to her approach to painting.
With a distinctive balance of intimacy and expressive energy, El Fallah transforms personal experience into work that feels both deeply individual and universally relatable. Her art has been exhibited internationally and is held in private and institutional collections worldwide.
