Statement:
The observation of the figurative and non-figurative from the perspective of the
abstraction is a general characteristic of my paintings. More precisely, the how of the reduction
of forms and content, occasionally the diverging from the starting-point, then the settling down
on the diverse scale of the detachment are the standard characteristics. I find it very important
to preferably disregard my real experiences and the convention of my experiences. By this I
mean that the non-representative, or absolutely abstract forms, colors, color fields feature
abstract elements of different a quality that originate in figurative basics.
The planar and spatial connections therefore dissappear, sometimes as a collage, creating a co-
ordinate relationship, sometimes with a spatial reference by shadows and color reflexes. The
joint presence and hereby the pictorial dissonance of all these strongly occupy me. They grow
into a pleasant, as much as sometimes to an unpleasant – or unwilling – sense and at the
moment this sense turns to an emotion, the pictorial definition becomes exciting.
