Branimir Maksimovic

I am an artist. Master of Fine Arts. Photographer and Graphic Designer. Art is my passion. I love to drink coffee and play guitar.

Branimir received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2016. He completed his Master of Fine Arts in 2018 also at Academy of Fine Arts Banja Luka . His work has been seen in many solo and group exhibitions for which he received several awards and recognition.

Branimir takes inspiration from the traditional figurative painting and in his work he is presenting a melancholic condition of portrayed person (mainly female) in an oil painting technique, by choosing carefully the specific visual and technical properties and other building blocks of the work so as to correspond to the very theme.

Portrayed characters are set in an intimate and empty environment, often in a state of contemplation and with closed eyes. Branimir also evaluates different connections between melancholia and art, primarily in terms of using the specific range of colors (color of bile) that runs through the entire series of works, and connects the mental state with the body / portrait which rounds off the whole work in both context and media sense...
