Barbara Di Sante

I am an Italian artist working primarily with graphite on paper.

My drawings focus on observation, light and texture. I am interested in everyday subjects — objects, fragments of the human body, and simple elements of daily life — explored through realism and careful tonal work.

Working in black and white allows me to slow down and concentrate on structure, contrast and subtle details, creating images that emphasize quiet presence and material depth.

Sono un’artista italiana che lavora principalmente con la grafite su carta.

I miei disegni si concentrano sull’osservazione della luce, delle superfici e delle texture. Sono interessata a soggetti quotidiani — oggetti, dettagli del corpo umano e frammenti della vita di tutti i giorni — esplorati attraverso il realismo e un attento lavoro tonale.
Lavorare in bianco e nero mi permette di rallentare e concentrarmi sulla struttura delle forme, sul contrasto e sui dettagli, creando immagini che mettono in evidenza la presenza silenziosa della materia.

I studied for about ten years at École Martenot in Rome under the guidance of Loris Liberatori. During this time I developed a strong artistic foundation through oil painting and classical drawing techniques.

Ho studiato per circa dieci anni presso l’École Martenot di Roma sotto la guida di Loris Liberatori, dove ho sviluppato una solida base artistica attraverso la pittura a olio e le tecniche classiche del disegno.

Museum of Classical Art – Sapienza University of Rome

Participation in the anniversary exhibition celebrating thirty years of the École Martenot in Rome.
The displayed works reflected a journey of aesthetic research, sensitivity and artistic growth, under the guidance of Loris Liberatori.

The exhibition closed with an evocative musical finissage, turning the museum space into a dialogue between visual art and music.
