Barb Fyvie

I am a Canadian artist living in the mountain town of Canmore Alberta. My studio practice has been under way for 20 years. The work I do includes oil paintings and mixed media pieces. I was born in the city and now walk through the mountain forests behind my house every day. So wilderness, urban sites, and visual memories are all inspirations for these works that invite the viewer to reflect on permanence and impermanence and how we coexist with the natural world.

Work exhibited in more than 40 group shows and 6 solo exhibitions in various galleries including The Avens Gallery, Elevation Gallery, The Edge Gallery and the Berg Gallery in Alberta, Canada. Numerous works held in private and corporate collections in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., New Zealand and Italy. Most recently, awarded a Public Art Commission by The Town of Canmore.
