Basheera Ohuni Abdulsalam (b. 1998, Warri, Nigeria) is a Nigerian visual artist based in Kaduna, she is an MFA candidate in painting at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Her practice specializes in expressive, impressionistic portraits and figurative compositions that explore themes of identity, vulnerability, and the dream state.
Marked by a vibrant color palette, flowing lines, and energetic brushwork, her work seamlessly blends contemporary figuration with the cultural heritage, regal traditions, and architectural influences of Northern Nigeria.
Utilizing acrylics, watercolor, oils, and digital media, she captures moments of deep introspection, offering a visual sanctuary dedicated to emotional honesty and self-acceptance.
