I am a Lebanese British self-taught artist living in London. My paintings aim to capture and evoke emotions, whether through landscapes, portraits, or figurative art. While my work may sometimes blend realism and impressionism, I prefer not to confine myself to any specific category. For me, art is about expressing feelings and creating connections.
I am fascinated by light and shade and how they shape our perception of the world. They can create harmony or conflict, peace or rage, profoundly impacting how we feel and act. I believe that light is the true artist, and we, as painters, strive to capture its magic while leaving a piece of our soul in each painting.
I transitioned to art from a long career in broadcast journalism. Painting, sculpting, and other forms of art provided me with a much-needed escape from the pressures of hard news.
In 2014, I followed my passion and gained the confidence to exhibit my art.
I choose my subjects based on my feelings at certain times. Sometimes I find inspiration in people, other times in nature. Whatever the subject, I aim to move people's emotions, making them contemplate, think, and relate. While I avoid painful images, I hint at people's suffering through the moods I reflect in my art.
