Every surrealist painter challenges these rules outlined by Michael Foucault. He is not afraid for his work to be caught up in madness and irrationality. Mixing reality in unexpected proportions, a surrealist artist fights for the most important right – the freedom to address the important issues regardless of the circumstances.

The works of Sviatoslav Bazyuk reveal that context and connections between different phenomena have no boundaries. The interpretations are limitless. This freedom leads to full immersion in the subject. Spirals and funnels pave the way to the inner world of themes, stories, and images. Reflection becomes infinite - like Alice’s fall down the rabbit hole. The artist encourages the leap into disorder, which, in turn, opens up a world of new interpretations and metaphors. In this inner world the viewer should be prepared for unexpected encounters when a mysterious stranger may end up either an enemy or an accomplice.

Bazyuk Svyatoslav Vladimirovich was born on April 7, 1978 in a small provincial town Krasnoperekopsk in Crimea. Since childhood, he took part in various international art festivals at the Artek camp in Gurzuf and won prizes in France, Kiev and Germany. He entered and graduated from the Technological University in Dnepropetrovsk. At the same time he was engaged in creativity, decorated restaurants, mansions, wall paintings on houses. From Dnepropetrovsk he left for Moscow, and from Moscow to Kiev. In Kiev, and a donkey. And he continues to create.
