Peter Berzanskis

I'm an Australian photographer living in Melbourne.

The beauty and banality of the buildings and structures that make up our urban environment has always fascinated and inspired me.

Through photography and within the editing process I like to strip away the context in which buildings and objects exist, then within that view explore angles, light, colour, negative and positive spaces to bend reality just slightly so that the viewer sees and understands the reality of the object in the frame.

As a kid, I spent way too much time looking out the window. During school holidays my father let me tag along with him on his jobs in factories, refineries and office buildings in the city where my fascination with our built environment began and has never left me.

I’m pretty excited to have been accepted into the Master of Arts Photography program at Photography Studies Collage in Melbourne starting in late July 2020. PSC is the number one photography school in Australia. The Master of Arts will allow me to continue to expand my practice.
