Biljana Medulovic Djurdjevic

I was born on December 31, 1983, in Valjevo, Serbia.

I am an economist by profession, but an artist at heart.

My love for painting remained quietly alive within me for many years, until in 2023 I decided to turn it into reality. With no previous experience and not a single painting behind me, I embarked on a journey of creation. That was the beginning of my artistic journey.
On canvas, I express the emotions and memories I carry within me. Each painting is a part of me, a dialogue with myself and with the world.
In my work, I explore the inner layers of the human experience, identity, emotion, mystery, and the relationship between the real and the unseen. I am particularly drawn to symbolism, mythology, folklore, and stories that have been passed down orally through generations.
My paintings emerge from a combination of personal experiences, memories, and old stories. Through them, I seek to bring to the canvas what might otherwise be forgotten, making it visible once again.

I refined my artistic expression, skills, and techniques through an intensive three-and-a-half-year program at an art academy, focusing on graphite, pastel, acrylic, and oil.
