Bill Seet

I'm a contemporary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I create paintings that bring together art history, popular culture, personal memories, and the visual noise of modern life. My work combines humor, social commentary, and unexpected imagery to challenge how we interpret the familiar world around us.

Growing up in San Francisco's North Beach and Chinatown neighborhoods, I was surrounded by an unconventional mix of cultures, street art, advertising, music, and counterculture. From the Beat Generation to punk rock, these early influences shaped my fascination with the images, ideas, and contradictions that define American culture.

Working in acrylic, oil, digital media, and mixed techniques, I draw from an extensive personal collection of photographs, historical artworks, commercial graphics, and everyday visual discoveries. I enjoy placing classical imagery alongside contemporary icons, creating unlikely relationships that are sometimes humorous, sometimes provocative, and often open to interpretation.
