BIO -

Liron Birdi Rafael, born in 1988, she is based in Israel.

At the age of 21 straight after acting school, Birdi persuade a full career as an artist with focus on painting.

Birdi is a self proclaimed artist, she identify herself with a generation of artist who practice integrated arts principles with different forms of art and philosophy drawn from zen art, Tibetan art and etc..
Birdi was fascinated by old master artists and by the baroque era, her practice in painting including classic oil paints techniques, such as layering, ala prima. She is using a vast contrast to create drama, inspired by the master Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi, Da Vinci, and more contemporary masters such as Jhon currin, Gottfried Helnwein and on the other side expressionism abstract artists as cy twombly and Rothko.
Her approach to art is part of a whole integrative point of view, by combining different ways of thinking into an active action that acts in her paintings. In Birdi’s work you will find a mix of thoughts and ideas, a massive amount of raw paints and iconic greek and roman sculptures.
