Bissera Videnova is a Bulgarian-born New York-based poet, writer, editor, and translator in her native tongue.
Her documentary photography focuses on the consequences of the communist regime, the people's emotional wounds, and pain empathy.
She participated in group shows in Sofia, Venice, Tampa, New York, Trieste; Bissera won Silver/book 2022 PX3; Winner Bronze for photobook The Speed of My Life (BIFA 2020); Honorable mention for Strive for Freedom (BIFA 2020); finalist at Siena Photo Awards (2020,2021); shortlisted BECA 2021; in the Official Selection of TIFA 2021 for Strive for Freedom; published photographs in Fatal Flaw Literary Magazine and Visura.
As a poet, she has published a poetry book in her country (2017) and many translated and published lyrics in English, French, Italian, Korean, and Romanian. Holds a prize for prose from the competition in France (2012); participated in poetry readings at the Poetry House in New York and the Yale Royal Poetry Club in Manhattan (2014-2019). She has published poetry in American Writers Review 2021-2022.
