Blue and Joy is a prolific contemporary artistic project by Fabio La Fauci (Milan 1977) and Daniele Sigalot (Rome 1976).The project develops around two characters, Blue and Joy, and their discouraging adventures, and works both on fine arts media, such as paintings, sculptures and mosaics, as well as digital and media. Both Blue and Joy are puppets, and both of them express physically the very contrary of what they feel: Blue, despite his tear and his broken heart, is the happiest creature on earth; Joy on the other hand has his arms stretched towards the sky and an eternal smile, but still he is the saddest puppet around.
The Blue and Joy project began in 2005 with the first exhibition in Barcelona it then carried on with a snowball effect that quickly led to several different exhibition through out Europe (Milan, Rome, Ibiza, Paris, London, Florence and Berlin). In 2007 Blue and Joy took part to one of the most successful exhibition of the year in Milan, the show "Street Art, Sweet Art" at the PAC (the Contemporary Art Pavillon) that saw more than 70,000 visitors. On the same year Blue and Joy also ended up on the prestigious Diesel Wall and its 360 squared meters above one of Milan's most visited square with the installation...
