Laura Bottaro

Laura Bottaro was born in Vicenza, Italy, December 19th 1958. She got her Master in Painting in Venice ,Accademia di Belle Arti , in 1986, having Emilio Vedova as a teacher. She now lives and works in Vicenza, keeping contact with European Culture, and especially with Germany where she started her art exhibitions.


Painting is for me a journey beyond the boundaries of space and time.

Through it , I look into my consciousness; but this deep introspection is not a one way...like a mirror that would also reflect the mood of the world, the reality that surrounds us. A close alliance, visceral, between vision and emotion, it comes from the capture of signals, tracks , messages, from around us...from what the "new" produces in our thoughts, our actions and words...this to understand who I am, naked in the mirror, but also with humility and poetry, to raise awareness through signs-colours-forms, of the human heart.

Regardless of the future of art, painting and its expressive power through signs and colours will always be essential to the creative process and the evolutionary expansion of the consciousness of man not only as a trace of it, but also as a possible gateway to the infinite, which makes us feel together as free bein...

I studied with Emilio Vedova, but my real inspiration comes from the Oriental Philosophy and some other artists I loved, like Giacometti, WOLS and Hans Hartung.
