Bobby Kolar

Bobby Kolar is an exciting artist on the American art scene. While clearly a master of timeless artistic traditions, Bobby expresses a fresh new vitality in his work.

Bobby’s mastery of classical sculptural techniques makes it possible for him to create each of these fascinating pieces. He first sculpts his images in clay. Once satisfied with his execution of the subject, he creates a mold or reverse image of the original work of art. By filling this mold with an architectural composite he is able to recreate the original once more. Each casting is then individually hand colored.

Unlike other art forms which remain static, Bobby’s sculptures respond to the play of light and shadow which occurs naturally throughout the day, creating ever changing and fascinating effects. His understanding of structure and space combined with his startling insight, result in a piece which elicits both intellectual attention and emotional response.

Originally from Seattle, Bobby continues working as a commercial artist and entrepreneur residing in Boulder City, Nevada.
