Bolaji Alonge is a Nigerian visual historian, documentary photographer, writer and cultural communicator whose work explores the people, places and stories that shape Africa’s past and present.

Through photography, film, and writing, he documents everyday life, cultural heritage, urban transformation, and the human experience across the continent and beyond.

His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private and public collections. His photographs are available as fine art prints and digital licenses, while commissioned assignments have included collaborations with cultural institutions, diplomatic missions, media organizations and corporate clients.

Through Eyes of a Lagos Boy, he continues to build one of the most extensive visual archives of contemporary African life.

His images show Lagos from another angle, a city that inspires and captivates imagination, pulling people into a vortex of energy and constant challenges. Images of everyday life in Nigeria carry deep social messages that expose fragility, audacity, and squalor.

Bolaji makes the viewer reconsider what we have seen with our own eyes, through the Eyes of a Lagos Boy, meandering from one story to the next exotic destination.
