Buffalo Bonker

By stretching, smashing and cropping existing art, a new painting is brought to life. These fun new images can stand alone or bring a level of recognition depending on the viewers previous experiences.

My images are influenced by the modern restrictions and the spontaneity of instagram, facebook and graphic design and the way images are wedged into restricted spaces.

In the way that hip-hop music can combine sampling of vaguely recognizable hooks, melodies and beats, my paintings sample, combine, and repurpose art history and pop imagery.
