I was born in 1976 in Athens, Greece where I live and work as a freelance graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and copywriter.
I work mainly with pencil and ink on various surfaces. My drawings are characterized by autobiographical references, elements of automatic writing and harmonic repetition. I seek inspiration in everyday life (whether it's an incident, an image or a song) and dig up images from my childhood and the native art of faraway continents.
Three movements that have played a big role in my work are: Surrealism, Art Brut and the Situationist International.
My current profile picture is a portrait I did of Lamberto Maggiorani, the protagonist in Vittorio de Sica's Bicycle Thieves (pencil and a bit of acrylic collage, 40x40cm).
I have studied:1. Graphic design in Athens2. History and theory of media, arts and design (Ba Hons) at Middlesex University3. Fine arts (M. A.) at the University of East LondonMy past exhibitions include the "Anathena" group show curated by Marina Fokidis at DESTE Foundation and "Boarding Gate" at K-Art Gallery, Athens. Most recent is the international group exhibition, entitled "Sensitivity Questioned" curated by Iliana Fokianaki at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Centre.,
