Brittney Shelton Price

My work is a visual exploration of liberation, resilience, and the deconstruction of oppressive systems. I create art that interrogates societal norms, focusing on themes of empowerment, justice, and identity. Each piece serves as both a reflection on inherited cultural biases and a celebration of reclaiming agency from historical and contemporary forces.

Using rich textures, bold contrasts, and layered symbolism, I address the complexities of marginalized identities, whether through the dismantling of patriarchal structures, reclaiming Black womanhood, or engaging with cultural history. My work speaks to the strength required to rise above imposed roles and celebrates the beauty in transformation.

I am committed to creating art that fosters dialogue around social change, personal growth, and collective healing. Through my practice, I aim to inspire reflection, challenge established norms, and contribute to the ongoing conversation about identity, justice, and the power of reclaiming one’s narrative.
