Burim Myftiu (born in Prizren, Kosova, 1961) is Albanian American photographer. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, and his work is held by major institutions internationally. His projects include: Strada (2014), Monuments (2013), Trance (2012), Fading Spirits (2011), Utopia in Chaos (2011), Symbiosis (2010), Sufi (2009), Remembrance (2009), Trance (2006), Le Voyage (2002), Kosova Mon Amour (1999). In 2010 he was appointed The Cultural Ambassador by the European Commission. Myftiu is also the co-founder and director (2005) of DOKUFEST - International Documentary and Short Film Festival. A short documentary about his work, Missing, debuted to critical acclaim in 2011. Myftiu is represented by Kipa Gallery, New York. He lives in Connecticut.
