Busk Kotsala

The artist duo BUSK KOTSALA, formed by Peter Linde Busk Katerina Kotsala, approach mosaic as a living craft tradition that can be reactivated through contemporary artistic practice. Their work explores the intersection between ancient craft techniques and experimental material processes, transforming mosaic into a sculptural and painterly medium that exists between image, object, and relief.

Peter Linde Busk (b. 1973, Copenhagen, Denmark) is a feral Academy artist, a painter whose skills and appetite for materials have led him to a style of painting that often closes in on sculpture and operates at an almost geological level, stratified and in contact with deep history.
Busk holds an MA Fine Art, from The Royal Academy of Arts, London (2009), a BA in Fine Art, from The Slade School of Fine Art, London, a BA in Fine Art (exchange stay), from Hunter College of Art, New York.
Katerina Kotsala (b. 1982, Thessaloniki, Greece) lives and works in Athens. She holds an MFA from Athens School of Fine Arts (2015) and a BFA from the School of Fine Arts AUTh (2013). She studied Byzantine Iconography (2004-2006) and Art Conservation & Restoration (2003).
