After growing up in Australia and teaching for a few years I set off for an adventure in the UK where I met the man of my dreams. A kiwi, in fact. Little did I know that this chance encounter would lead me to a life with him in New Zealand working on the family farm.

I had always been a city girl at heart but I fell head over heels with rural life. The breathtaking scenery of New Zealand had me well and truly captivated as did rural living and the gorgeous animals on the farm.

HQ is an 1100 ha farm in Hororata, about an hour west of Christchurch. It is my husband Fraser’s family farm, a far cry from my upbringing in the Australian suburbs.

My photographic journey began as a family photographer. As a former primary school teacher, I developed my love of photography while living in the Wairarapa, when the school I was teaching at sent me on my first photography course so I could teach it as a class at the school, and then before long, I was photographing families as a side hustle and quite enjoying it!
