Carole Egerton

Carole Egerton is a British painter working in oils, based in Hertfordshire. She grew up in the English countryside, among old villages and old houses, and the faces and stories they hold have shaped her work ever since.

She is also a novelist, and her paintings and writing come from the same place. Many of the figures she paints are characters she has lived with for a long time on the page.

Alongside her art, Carole has spent her career building new things. She co-founded Glasses Direct, which was acquired by EssilorLuxottica, and co-founded Digiteyez, which created the world's first FDA-cleared virtual eye test. She is now Founder and CEO of SOLM Systems. She brings the same patience to the canvas that she brings to building companies: get the structure right first, then let everything else grow from it.
