Doug Campbell

I am a traditionaly trained blacksmith working in the Bushey area of Hertfordshire England. I initialy trained under Master Blacksmith Michelle Parker FWCB and I am continuing my advancement in the search for the knowledge of steel under the ever watchful eye, of Eminent Master Blacksmith Steve Rook FWCB.

My influances when designing the conceptual base for my next piece all come from my love of traditional tribal art works, specificaly the shapes and forms to be found in those from the head hunting regions of the Solomon Islands, Borneo, Malaysia and Indonesia. I then mix these forms with the organic texturing and movement of plants, animals and sea life.

All of the effects are created using traditional blacksmithing techniques, including hot forging and repouse techniques aswell as chiseling and textural work.
