Camilla Blauenfeldt

I love working with colors, creating different landscapes. I often find my inspiration in patterns; it can be the decoration on a cup or floor, it can be colors used on a fabric, or just everyday things that I come across. Some of my paintings are actual places I have visited, but sometimes a landscape comes to life in my imagination, where I explore different techniques and color combinations.
I work mainly with acrylics on canvas, where I often place a figur - it can be humans or animals - cut out from newspapers. The newspaper cuttings give another dimension to the canvas, and they may intrigue the eyes of the viewer.
I also work with mixed media, creating smaller pictures on paper. When working on paper, I am much more intuitive. The starting point for a collage can be small pieces of colorful paper from magazines, giftwrapping, old books, newspapers, and the like. Mixing paint, oil pastels, markers, and paper, I create mostly abstract pictures.

Camilla Blauenfeldt holds a master’s degree in Art History and English from the University of Copenhagen and the Slade School of Fine Art in London. She has worked as an art teacher for many years, alongside periods working in museums and textile design.
