Carina Ilinca

I am a visual artist based in Bucharest, Romania, working primarily in contemporary painting. My practice centers on the human figure as a psychological and symbolic presence, often situated within ambiguous or tension-filled spaces. Through figuration, I explore themes of vulnerability, identity, and inner conflict, allowing emotional states to shape the visual narrative.

I work mainly with acrylic on canvas, employing expressive mark-making, strong chromatic contrasts, and layered compositions. My approach balances intuition and structure, focusing on the relationship between body, memory, and emotional perception. Rather than illustrating fixed meanings, my work invites open interpretation and emphasizes the experiential dimension of the image.
