Carlos Francisco

I am a Portugal-based artist working primarily with discarded materials to create fragmented portraits and textile-inspired assemblages. My practice explores memory, identity, and cultural icons through reconstruction rather than representation.

By assembling overlooked and waste materials, I create images that exist between recognition and abstraction, reflecting how collective memory is built from fragments. My work often focuses on iconic figures, not as idealized images, but as emotional and cultural traces preserved through material transformation.
