Carlos G. Torrico

Sculptor. His artistic practice moves between sculpture, philosophy and experimental poetics. His trajectory evolved from poetry, photography and visual writing toward object-based work and speculative sculpture.

He is co-founder of Proyecto Genoma Poético and #LetraLAB, and creator of noopunk Studio.

STATEMENT
Speculative Sculpture

Carlos G. Torrico develops a sculptural practice focused on the relationship between form, volume and the symbolic structures activated in the viewer’s mind. His works operate as cultural artifacts that materialize invisible forces: archetypes, conceptual systems and speculative imaginaries embedded in contemporary thought.

His sculptures explore the artistic object as a spiritual and cognitive interface, a site where cultural archetypes and philosophical constructs are condensed into physical form.

Formally, his work is influenced by the Basque sculptural tradition, particularly Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida, as well as by artists such as Alexander Calder, Martín Chirino and Constantin Brancusi.
