I was born in Vancouver, BC and have dual citizenship, currently working and residing in Southern California. I spent much of my early years in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, moving to the East Coast after my first year at university. I lived and worked in the DC area until 2018 when I moved to the Palm Springs area.
My father was instrumental in my love of the medium of photography. I began shooting regularly out of high school, but didn't start showing my work or selling until 2005.
My profession for 25 years was as a self-employed residential real estate appraiser in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Commonwealth of Virginia. Prior to this I worked on Capital Hill for ten years in the office of Congressman Charlie Wilson (TX) (as in "Charlie Wilson's War" book and subsequent movie, starring Tom Hanks).
For a brief period in the mid-'90s I was lucky to be given the opportunity to live and work in Paris.
My photography studies has been gained from varied sources, including the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC. I continue to participate in workshops and shoots around the US and abroad.
My print work started in a traditional darkroom with silver-halide processing. However, I now work exclusively in the digital realm, hand-printing Archival Pigment Prints in small limited editions.
I have regularly exhibited in art fairs along the Mid-Atlantic region, including the McLean Artfest in McLean, VA, Williamsburg, VA, Fairfax, VA, Annapolis, MD.
I also participated in a group exhibit in Dulles International Airport, as well as have my work hanging in the permanent collection of the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
