Cassidy Austin

Cassidy Austin is a contemporary figurative painter whose work explores femininity, visibility, and power through the female form and symbols of modern luxury. Trained at California State University Fullerton and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, her work bridges classical technique with contemporary subject matter, combining refined realism with emotional and cultural tension.

Working primarily in oil, Austin paints women in moments of self-possession, confidence, and quiet authority, often juxtaposed with objects associated with craftsmanship, status, and desire. Her work challenges traditional narratives around femininity by reclaiming sensuality, indulgence, and visibility as acts of agency rather than performance. Through controlled light, minimal composition, and a focus on gesture, her paintings invite viewers to reconsider how value is assigned to both bodies and objects in contemporary culture.
