About Catia Goffinet

I am passionate about lines, cores and shapes. In my work I try to find a bridge between straight lines and the sensitivity of art. Transform these straight lines into art in a light, delicate, cheerful, sensitive way or in simple and dangerous compositions, for me, a challenge, an objective and an enormous pleasure. I like to vary my work between pure lines, straight lines in more organic formats, and also use a purity of geometric shapes. Working with layers of transparency, giving an idea of movement and infinity is a milestone in my work that varies among other techniques. I believe that everything is energy. That we emanate energy. This energy contaminates everything around us. There is energy in everything we see and everything we create. I like to use layers of transparency that represent that energy. Good vibes! To the sound of good music ... in a happy environment my creation conveys this positive and happy energy. I am Brazilian! I like cores! They are part of my life and my daily look. I live in one of the largest urban forests in the world: in the middle of the Atlantic Forest in the Serra da Cantareira in São Paulo. I am surrounded by the green of the forest, the blue of the sky, like nuclei of flowers and birds. I love colors. I love to use cores in my work. Some of these combinations of nuclei (often unusual) originate in my gaze flooded with nuclei that are born in my garden, on walks along the trails in the woods or when visiting corners in my house. I love to vary my work between cheerful colors, black and white and monochromatic works. The idea of the possibility of transforming the organic forms of nature into something geometrical fascinates me at the same time that the purity of geometry challenges me.
