Christian Bidault

I am French, born in Lille. My career was in television, and when I met my British wife, I moved to London where I have been living for 25 years where I started my own production company, specialising in documentaries about the Royal Family. I produced 11 films which sold all over the world. I am particularly interested in the Queen; her face is the most well-known female face in the world and yet she is so inscrutable. I started to paint her eight years ago. I use acrylic as I like the vibrancy of the colour, and one of my main influences is Andy Warhol who I met in the 1970s.
