Ceren Barlas is a self-taught digital artist based in Turkey with a professional background in law. Her practice explores philosophical and psychological questions surrounding perception, consciousness, identity, and the human experience.
Rather than depicting reality, Ceren creates visual spaces that encourage reflection on how we perceive, interpret, and assign meaning to the world around us. Her works investigate existential themes, including perception, the relationship between the individual and the whole, interconnectedness, memory, time, and transformation.
Working entirely in digital media, she has developed her own visual approaches—including Chromatic Drift, Erasura Layering, and Nebula Point—to build immersive compositions where symbolism, geometry, and abstraction become tools for inquiry rather than decoration.
For Ceren, art is not about providing answers but about creating moments of contemplation. She believes a work succeeds when it leaves the viewer with a question that continues long after the image disappears.
