I was born in Hampstead in 1945. In 1960 I went to Italy for 3 years then later lived in Spain where I met my Belgian born future wife. Left Spain in 1966 to return to London where I lived with my wife and later our two sons until 1981 when we moved to North Cornwall, where the settings became perfect the background to my figures.I am passionate about the human figure especially with the sea or cliffs settings. I also paint portrais and still life. I usually paint in oils but have painted in tempera in the past.and use all drawing media as well as pastel. When I was a child I used to follow Donald Towner the landscape artist living in Hampstead. Later I discovered the works Pietro Annigoni,I admire many artists from the past as well as contempory ones such as Ken Howard.
I am a menmber of the RSMA and a governor on the FBA board.
I was educated at St.Anthony's and UCS in Hampsted. Then went to study with Pietro Annigoni for three very benefical years and at the same time also attended the Scuola Del Nudo.I have exhibited extensively in England and abroad in group and one-man shows. Have potraits in the Brittannia Royal Naval College, works in the Greenshield Foundation in Canada among other places.,
exhibited extensively in London and abroad and have galleries in various counties in the UK
