It was all thanks to a painting challenged issued by my Dad, to paint a watercolour in under 30 minutes, that I stumbled upon this way of working. I make these watercolour paintings by tracing details using a fine marker on loose watercolour washes, of buildings and other interesting places I have visited. Whilst they take a little longer than 30 minutes to create now, this challenge really injected a vibrancy into my practice and opened up my work to a fresh new style.
