Courtney Hoelscher

I was born In Greensboro, NC but moved around quite a bit. I live in Richmond Virginia and Kansas City, Kansas for years before settling back in Greensboro for College. Though I studied to be an art teacher, I stepped away from that path for a few years. I completed an internship with a professional potter. I worked for several years as a digital technical artist for a publishing company where I met my husband in 2001. We moved to western NC soon after we were married. I returned to my career as a teacher and am starting my 17th year in the profession as we speak. I love teaching but have developed an insatiable thirst for painting over the past 4 or five years. I am a mother of two school age children but still manage to find time to paint, if not in the evenings after work, then most definitely on the weekends.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Education from Greensboro College in 1999. I am constantly researching and studying new techniques and mediums for my own artistic endeavors and to pass along to my students.
