Chris Mccrae

Born in the UK, Chris McCrae returned to painting
in 2019 after a 25-year career as a graphic designer & art director in the music & advertising industries.

His work is defined by a distinctive aesthetic that delves into culture and reflects the complexities of contemporary life. Central to his imagery is the recurring symbol of isolated hands, complemented by a signature palette of bold colours.

Through the use of repeated iconography, his graphic works transcend language, offering
a visual communication that resonates with the modern world.

McCrae uses acrylic paint on canvas, layering the medium to create a dynamic, dimensional style that blends traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility.

He lives and works on the south coast of England, just outside of Brighton.
