Born in Grenoble on 24 July .... into a family of artists, Christiane Guerry is a painter and sculptor who has lived and worked in Nice since 1989.

At the age of 18, Christiane Guerry worked with the painter Mercédes Henry for 3 years, who nicknamed her "The painter of colours" and advised her to take flight.



PAINTER OF COLOURS

Christiane Guerry's painting can be described as timeless, informal and obsessive. She makes everyday life her own, adding her own emotions, imagination and vision of the world by playing with materials and light, colours, shapes and movement.

A solitary creator, she plays with the real and the rational to approach the unreal and the irrational!

INTERNATIONAL SCOPE

Since 1971, Christiane Guerry has taken part in numerous group and solo exhibitions in France and abroad, from Paris to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

Christiane Guerry is a French contemporary artist whose work explores human presence, memory, and the passage of time.

Active since 1968, she develops a figurative language between abstraction and representation, focusing on couples, human figures, and collective forms. Her paintings and sculptures evoke transmission, love, loss, and resilience through simplified bodies, white figures, and expressive color.

Her work has been exhibited in France and internationally, including in Europe and the Middle East. Today, her practice is centered on the series Mémoires Vivantes, where painting becomes a trace of what passes and what remains.

She lives and works in France.

DONATIONS
She takes part in auctions in Grenoble at Galerie Marie Louise in aid of disabled children!
Later in Nice, she donated a painting to an auction for the Jewish community!
In Vence, she donated a painting to the Rotary Club of Vence!


Since 2006, she has been exhibiting at GEMLUCART in MONACO, where she won a prize! 2 of her works are in the Gem'luc Museum!
For the past few months, she has been creating textile and paper works (recovery of materials, recycling, she works to save the Planet...).The artist invites you into her new creations based on thread and related to :
