Caitlin Lawlor is a visual artist with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art. She studied in Portsmouth, England from 2005, where upon many frequent trips to London she was inspired to paint images of urban life; cityscapes, architecture and internal architecture, in particular transitional spaces within the city, which included tube and train stations, and the long corridors leading up to them.
Nowadays, after moving back to Northern Ireland she concentrates on her local surroundings and all that the beautiful coastlines of Northern Ireland have to offer. She is inspired by the ruggedness of the coastlines, and the juxstaposition of the strength and fragility that these coastlines posses. She specialises in oil paintings, but has experience in painting with other mediums such as acrylic, enamel and watercolour. She also is skilled in metal sculpture and worked with a local English company (Aardvark Studios) to facilitate in metal sculpture commissions.
Currently Caitlin is experimenting with printmaking, in particular linocut prints.
