I was born in Utah and raised in the small farming town of Kaysville. When I was a boy my friends and I would wander around west Kaysville where there was a lot of farmland. We spent a lot of time walking along the ditch banks there. I can remember the sunsets even now. Planted in my mind was how the colors of the fields changed. The sun shone across the farmland leaving a golden glow. I believe these wanderings are still with me when I Paint today enabling me to paint what I have learned.

I studied art at Weber State University I painted field studies to use for painting larger works in my studio. I am fortunate to have the imagination and the eye for nature to paint what is around me. Viewing nature from morning to night I can observe changing light, colors, values, and forms, along with all the changing moods. Nature holds the answers to what I create. Nature is the greatest of teachers.
