"...Conni Lechner always has a lovely smile on her face, but she paints pictures that are more complicated than in the first moment of viewing. As if she would take away the viewers bravery to intrude in her painted world. Her pictures are colorful and pastose, and to this inner glow appears the black hold – with figures or spots. Increasing the contrast to the warm tones which can be blue or violet, too. The strict and floating shows up as concentration. The alchemy mediates the impression of freshness and improvisaton but grace, too. Her forms will never become brutal, but are worked out with highest fineness out of the whole of the image and are loosened up through gaps. Overlaps stimulate this room... the bold dynamic denies the neat but nevertheless creates color combination that conjures atmospheric room. Exciting how her pictures work spontaneously, how the brush is moving on paper or canvas sometimes dancing, sometimes sensitively searching…"
