Corinne Varón – Artist Biography
Born in Lima, Perú in the 1950s, Corinne Varón discovered the power of visual language after moving to Boston at age 17, speaking only Spanish and French. This early experience of cultural and linguistic immersion shaped her lifelong artistic voice—one rooted in observation, emotion, and form.
By 1976, painting had become both her passion and profession. From her Cambridge studio, she raised her daughter and developed a dynamic body of work spanning painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and textiles. Her signature style, fluid lines, bold geometry, and vibrant color, invites viewers to see the world with fresh eyes.
Varón holds a Doctorate from Harvard University and degrees from Brandeis and Lesley University, all focused on the intersections of art, cognition, and self-expression. After decades in Massachusetts, she lived in Costa Rica for ten years, where the tropical palette reignited her love for color and nature. She now lives and works in Tampa, Florida and travels frequently to Chicago, IL.
Across six decades, Corinne Varón’s work celebrates movement, memory, and the beauty of everyday life—transformed through imagination, color, and form.
