Cosmin Marian Guța (1994) is a visual artist born in Romania whose artistic path has developed between Italy and Spain. After studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, he continued his formation in Barcelona, where he completed his Fine Arts studies and consolidated his personal artistic language. He currently lives and works in Barcelona.
His work is built around a continuous dialogue between past and present. Cosmin explores how the forms, symbols and sensibilities of ancient art can coexist with a contemporary, freer and more intuitive approach. This encounter between eras shapes a visual language where classical echoes, layers of memory and modern gestures merge to reinterpret tradition from a personal and evolving perspective.
Through texture, chromatic contrasts and compositions that evoke historical resonance without directly replicating it, he creates images that seem to move between two temporal dimensions: what is remembered and what is lived, what is inherited and what is transformed. His painting invites viewers to enter a space where the timeless and the contemporary interact, revealing how the past remains vividly present within today’s visual experience.
BFA, Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Italy — Graduated with highest honours (2020)
Erasmus Exchange and Advanced Artistic Training, EASD Llotja, Barcelona, Spain
