Artist Statement
Crocifissa-Kristina Grillo

I consider as an artist it is possible to create art works in order to
sustain the perception of reality through abstract expressionism.
I hope the first impression to be a preconception based on mostly female .
My paintings are an imagery which represents embodiment.
I believe that flesh is a temporary tent which holds our spirit and soul.
Aristotle quoted : “ The aim of art is to represent Not the
outward appearance of things , but their inward significance" .
My work also searches my identity as a woman and
individuality which I thrive for as an artist.
My creativity manifests through the influences of human beings
at the moment of inspiration, simultaneously from my work .
I continue to allow these manifestations to enrich my creativity.
My images are derived from an internal desire to explore truth,
and a reflection of how it feels to live in my own skin.
My images give a life to many whose stories are untold.

The unique mark making process is what I am best known for, in my contemporary artist expression .
