Cynthia Law

Cynthia Law was born in Hong Kong, China. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 14 and has resided in the sunny southern California since then. As a child Cynthia was drawn to both art and music. For her, an abstract painting is like music without words and a piece of music has the power to evoke images of colors or a "place."

Cynthia favors using collage of found paper and mixed media for creating a variety of textures and effects. She prefers small or miniature scale for a sense of intimacy and preciousness. Her creative process is guided by the material available and the work itself. From start to finish, each work is like a unique journey to a place she could have never known, a place beyond the surface of the work where she seeks joy, wonder, and mystery.
