Daniela Labosova

I am Slovak born artist live and work in Corby as one of the resident artist in Rooftop Arts Centre in Corby. I studied at University in Presov (Slovakia), I have got MA degree as Teacher of Art and Art History. I studied at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Slovakia), Department of Painting and Other media. I finished with MA degree as well. During my art journey I worked as restorer of wall paintings and architecture in Slovakia, Slovak Heritage.
In my art practice I work with installations, drawings but primarily with paintings. In my art works I use themes from everyday life, from trivial situations, personal observation and memory traces. I build my paintings basically as an abstract or vague environments. These environments can’t be strictly indentified on first view, they are unknown, vague. Painting have they own roles to allure audience closer, change direction of view and then paintings reveal new insight, tracks and wandering in spaces between. Important is act of painting process and consecutive personal necessity of participating as an accession of the physicality.
