Glimpses of the Elusive.
What is truly fascinating is how we are ‘creating’ reality through experiencing. How a constunt flux of subjective and singular from moment to moment arising experiences keeps giving birth to myriads of worlds and how they happen to ‘intersect’ in our shared realities. In visual arts, how the seen can mediate a glimpse into what cannot be seen.
Daniel Pazdur is an artist of Slovak origin living in Mauritius.
Born in 1978, he studied aesthetics /history and philosophy of art/ at Comenius University,
Bratislava. He is self taught in photography, his primary medium of expression.
He also creates short videos, collages, paints his backdrops, and interacts with found objects mostly
borrowed from nature (photography, assemblage).
His interest is in conceptual, surreal, imaginative & abstract.
Influences:
‘primitive art’, mythology, surrealism, literature on trans-personal psychology and psychedelic research, abstract expressionism, color field painting, light art… his own experiences of sensory deprivation, ganzfeld effect, darkness and silent meditation, yoga and study of non dual teachings.
