My practice exists at the intersection of queerness, heritage, and community. Through photography and archival research, I explore gender, sex, and diaspora as pathways to understanding identity. As an immigrant and gender non-conforming artist, I examine the nuances of masculinity and the repression of femininity shaped by the Puritan whitewashing of morality. By preserving my family’s memory and their migration to the United States, I bridge personal history with collective experience. My work aims to awaken self-reflection and empathy, creating portals where viewers question inherited beliefs and engage with the layered realities of identity, representation, and belonging.
