My adventure with art began in the 90s when I got in touch with Hip Hop movement, especially with graffiti, that was developping in Italy just in those years.
It was a time made of discoveries and you could perceive the power of communication on the walls and the urgency to develop your own style.
Internet was not so popular and the style had to be remarkable and anonymous at the same time.
It was my first school, but that same way of approaching style is still driving my choices today. I’m convinced that if you have something to say through art, then you have to do it!
For this reason I decided to make ‘the big jump’ and quit a steady job in order to focus 100% on what I love to do, knowing that you have to be brave and risk if you want to follow your dreams.
During the time my art shifted from the walls to other techniques following a natural path with various influences: my personal interest for art history, artistic studies at Bologna University, a deep love for jazz that took me to study it at a practical, therorical and historical level.
My curiosity for traditional techniques in fine arts pushed me to learn more about anything could help me defining my personal style.
Brush paintings on plasterboard first and on canvas later, the collage technique, engraving and screen printing, pencil drawing, watercolor: all these took me to develop my technique of working iron sheets with varnishes and rust.
